Discover the exceptional Arran Signature #2 Bonfire, a limited-edition release from Arran's four-part Signature Series.

This bottling introduces you to the more heavily peated side of Arran, aged in a Bourbon Barrel. The peat content of this bottling is 42 ppm. The Quarter Casks used in this bottling come from a small Chicago distillery, Koval, who use these custom 115-liter barrels to mature their Bourbon before arriving at Arran in Lochranza.

The whiskey in this bottling was originally filled into Bourbon casks in 2012 and matured for almost 5.5 years before being transferred to the Koval Quarter Casks in September 2018, where it spent the remaining 5.5 years of its maturation period. Only a small number of these Quarter Casks were filled and none have been since, giving them a very rare place in Arran's range.

The intensity of the heavily peated whiskey has acquired an even more complex and full character during secondary maturation. The smaller size of the barrels provides a greater contact surface between the wood and the spirit, creating an environment for 'express' maturation. The result is a whiskey with more intense flavors that add depth and more nuance to the final dram. Smoky notes mingle with the beloved roasted citrus and sweet vanilla spice of Arran Single Malt.

Tasting notes:
- On the nose: Hazelnuts covered with caramel, orange peel and abundant vanilla. Rich dry smoke.
- In the mouth: Rich and smooth. Mouthfilling, oily and complex. Spicy cinnamon notes mingle with citrus.
- Aftertaste: Spiciness, citrus, smoke, peat, vanilla, cinnamon, suppleness and toasted oak.
