Recipe for chicken gyros with Greek orzo pasta

If it is a little less warm outside during the summer, this is really a dish that will make you happy and make you dream of the sun for a while! Once again, it is not that difficult (that is always my starting point!) but very tasty and full of flavor!

How do you make homemade gyros?

1. Take the chicken fillets and first cut them into wide pieces over the entire length. Then take the chicken pieces and cut them into thin 'slices'. Place the chicken in a mixing bowl and pour some olive oil on it and add a generous spoonful of chicken herbs. Mix together and leave aside for a while.

2. Take a pot and put it on the fire. Add a dash of olive oil and fry the onion until it becomes translucent. Then add the pepper and let it stew on medium heat. When the peppers start to soften, add the garlic. Let it simmer for a while until the garlic is done.

3. In the meantime, put another pot with water on the stove and boil plenty of water in it. As soon as the water boils, add the orzo pasta and some salt. Cook according to the instructions on the package.

4. Pour a good dash of white wine over the vegetables and let it cook until the alcohol has evaporated. Now add the smoked paprika and some salt. Stir well. Now add the cream and let it cook until the sauce thickens. Now is the time to add the chicken and let it cook in the sauce. As soon as the chicken is cooked, you can serve the chicken gyros with a generous scoop of the orzo pasta.

Enjoy!
