The original name of the Botran 18 Sistema Solera 1893 originated from the year of birth of the eldest brother, Don Venancio, who was the first to be inspired by the beautiful country of Guatemala. In this rum you can taste all the passion, fire and determination that Don Venancio had for his rum.

The Botran family once started producing sugar cane in Guatemala, but In 1939 the five brothers decided to produce rum themselves. They established their production in Quetzaltenango, which the brothers said was perfect for the maturation of the rum. This is because it was located at 2300 meters above sea level and therefore less angel-share would occur. Botran Rum uses the "Sistema Solera", this process ensures the mixing of young and old rum during the maturing process.
