As a basis, they use Tinta Negra wines from the 2006 harvest and Verdelho from 2004. To create the specific dry and very fresh end, they had to add Sercial to the blend. So they selected a wine made from that grape variety that has matured in old French oak barrels.

The high acidity in that Sercial made it possible to create the unique character of this dry 'reserve' blend and to strengthen the pleasant and fresh acidity. Thanks to the extremely fresh and fruity character of this wine, The Madeira Collection No. 2 has become a real gastronomic wine, which goes well with poultry (pheasant), chocolate, citrus and aged cheese.
