Elderberry syrup from Den Dael, that is 100% Belgian and 100% tasty!

The elderberries are locally produced by Den Dael, located in Kester. After the harvest in August, the juice is extracted using a steam extractor. The steam causes the berries to burst and release their delicious juice. This juice is then pasteurized so that it can be easily stored.

The juice is then boiled down and candy sugar is added. This addition makes the sour juice more pleasant to drink and can also be stored for a long time.

Finally, the syrup is tapped warm into the bottles and hermetically sealed. All you have to do is enjoy this Belgian seasoning.

Food pairing:

You can add a tablespoon of syrup in the morning and evening. take to boost your immune system or add some syrup to your tea. You can also add some syrup to your yogurt or ice cream. And last but not least, you can give your (sparkling) water or apple juice some extra flavor with a touch of elderberry syrup. Enjoy!
