This Glendalough Mizunara is vibrant, yet delicate with a seamless depth. The whiskey was matured for 7 years in American oak Bourbon barrels and finished in Japanese Mizunara oak barrels.
This is the first Irish whiskey to use the rare and exotic Mizunara. Mizunara means "water oak" is rare and expensive. The trees rarely grow straight, in fact it takes 200 years before they are old enough to work with. The wood then needs another 3 years to dry before it can be processed.
