The flavor variation in this series is influenced by various factors, such as the oak type, the local terroir and the drying time of the wood, roasting, charring and aging of the barrels. Each of these factors reacts uniquely with the GlenAllachie spirit to provide excellent texture, depth and diversity.
GlenAllachie 7Y Hungarian Virgin Oak is distinguished by its vibrant oak spiciness and soft berry-fruit flavors, which arise from the use of innovative techniques. The whiskey is matured in Hungarian sessile oak (Quercus Petraea) barrels, sourced from the Zemplén forest in the mountains of northeastern Hungary, near the famous Tokaj wine district. Thanks to the rocky volcanic soil, colder climate and higher elevation, the trees grow slowly and create a dense grain in the wood, which is essential for the maturing process of spirits. The result is an aromatic, balanced expression with a silky richness, reflecting Hungarian craft traditions.
