Pastis 12/12 Pétanque is not just a drink, it is a celebration of tradition and modernity, rooted in the rich history of Saint-Tropez. Pastis has been produced in this iconic city since the 1950s, and now, 70 years later, friends from Saint-Tropez are bringing back the essence of this tradition with a refined twist.
The name Pastis 12/12 is inspired by the petanque culture of the region. The expression '12/12' refers to the crucial moment in a bocce game when both teams have reached 12 points, and the next point determines the winner.
The unique recipe of Pastis 12/12 starts with a precise distillation of star anise in traditional alembics. Combined with carefully selected herbs and spices, followed by a hint of almond, this results in a pastis that is both refined and refreshing. The copper, slightly cloudy color and the rich aromas of licorice, star anise and candied fruit make every sip an experience.
Flavor profile:
- On the nose: A powerful and rich aroma of licorice, star anise and candied fruits.
- In the mouth: An excellently balanced pastis, soft but with a pronounced Mediterranean character.
- Finish: Refreshing and slightly acidic, with subtle almond notes reminiscent of the traditional Mauresque.
The Pastis 12/12 bottles are inspired by vintage glass decanters from the 1950s, with a modern and artistic touch thanks to the famous illustrator Quentin Monge. Monge's minimalist and poetic designs, influenced by the summer atmospheres of his childhood in Saint-Tropez, adorn the bottles and bring to life the vibrancy of the French Riviera. The innovative cap, which also serves as a cochonnet (the small ball in petanque), adds a playful and functional twist.
