At the foot of the Montagne Noir, in an amphitheater overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, lies the historic vineyard of Saint Frichoux. This soil, which was once a salty sea, now forms the basis for the refined Marins d'eau douce Rosé. As the fifth generation of wine growers, they proudly bear the nickname of freshwater sailors ("Marins d'eau douce"), both literally and figuratively, and respect age-old traditions and nature.
The vines grow on sandstone marl along the valleys of the Resclauze and Ruchol rivers, which flow into the former Marseillette pond. This pond, which dried up in the 19th century, provides a unique and fertile soil for the vineyard.
The grapes (Syrah, Caladoc, Carignan) are harvested at night to preserve their freshness and pressed immediately. The fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, resulting in a fresh and lively wine.
Tasting notes:
- On the nose: Aromas of fresh strawberry, refreshing notes and a hint of mint.
- On the palate: An affirmation of the strawberry on the palate, with lots of freshness and liveliness. The tension is pleasant and the aftertaste is nicely open.
