The Octomore 15.1 is an uncompromising single malt whisky, made from Concerto barley from the Scottish mainland, distilled in 2018 from the 2017 harvest. Aged for five years, the whisky has matured in a carefully selected mix of first fill bourbon barrels and re-charred ex-bourbon casks.

The result is a whisky that perfectly balances Octomore’s refined character. Intense peat smoke is complemented by creamy notes of vanilla custard, sweet toasted oak and a playful mix of tropical fruits. This whisky offers not only a powerful taste experience, but also a subtle elegance that belies its youth.

Tasting notes:
- On the nose: A combination of caramel and vibrant citrus, enveloped by the dry, earthy peat smoke of Octomore. Spicy anise, vanilla, custard and hints of tropical fruits such as mango and banana add depth, with a touch of geranium and ginger.
- On the palate: An immediate warmth on the tongue, perfectly balanced by sweet malt and earthy smoke. Tropical notes of mango, banana and apricot jam are rounded off by creamy vanilla custard and toffee. With a drop of water, the smoky notes open up further, with subtle maritime nuances and a hint of warm sand.
- Finish: Peat smoke, vanilla and sweet toasted oak linger, freshened by a light maritime sharpness.
