This torsade, also known as fusilli, is a spiral pasta that originated in southern Italy but is produced with love and craftsmanship in Belgium. Legend has it that fusilli was created when a pasta maker twisted spaghetti around a knitting needle – and the result is this delicious, versatile pasta.
The pasta is made in an authentic way by extrusion through a copper die, which gives it a rough texture that perfectly absorbs sauce. With 5% tomato flakes and 5% ground basil, this two-tone pasta gets a natural and rich flavour. The drying process takes a careful 19 hours, which guarantees the quality and flavour of the pasta.
Belpasta is the result of a friendship between Jean-Louis and François, two farmers with a shared passion for the land. By keeping production entirely local – from field to plate – they not only guarantee exceptional quality, but also contribute to sustainability and health.
Usage tips:
