Taste the classic Graham's style with Graham's 2017 Vintage Port: full-bodied, rich and opulent, with impressive complexity and length.
2017 was a dry and extremely hot year in the Douro. The grapes developed into compact bunches with exceptional concentration and a particularly low yield. The harvest started exceptionally early – on 28 August – and yielded only 166 pipes, a third less than the previous year.
The Touriga Franca, normally late ripening, arrived three weeks earlier than usual and yielded grapes of unprecedented quality. This increased the proportion of Touriga Franca in the blend, contributing to the power and elegance of this vintage.
Tasting notes:
This wine is truly an excellent example of the class of the Douro. Deep purple in colour, with a beautiful viscosity that betrays the enormous concentration.
- On the nose: aromas of blackberry, plum and bergamot dominate, jumping out of the glass.
- On the palate: a layered palette of black fruits, refreshingly complemented by hints of fresh apricot.
- Finish: impressively long and persistent – a wine that continues to resonate.
Storage & Serving: Store the bottle lying down. Decant before serving.
