THE WINE: The name Six Grapes refers to the symbol that Graham's has always used to classify wines on a scale of one to six, Six Grapes represents the lots with Vintage Port potential. Of Graham's five key vineyard properties, Malvedos, Tua, Lages, Vila Velha and Vale de Malhadas, the lots with the most concentration, structure and brightest fruit are awarded the coveted Six Grapes classification. With a youthful, fruity forward style, Six Grapes is a perfect wine to pair with dark chocolate or blue cheese, or simply to relax with at the end of the day.
WINEMAKING: Six Grapes usually matures in wooden barrels for a fairly shorter period than other Reserve Ruby Ports. After the wines are loaded from the Malvedos winery in the spring after harvest, they travel to Graham's lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia, where they will usually spend one or two years in seasoned wooden barrels or vats before being ready for bottling. The Graham's taste team ensures that the blend matches the previous one as closely as possible so that taste and quality are preserved over time.
Once in the bottle, the wine is ready to drink and does not need to be further aged. ripen.
STORAGE & SERVING
Six Grapes can be left open for several weeks and are best served slightly cooler, between 12 and 16o Celsius. Graham's Six Grapes is delicious served at the end of a meal, for example with rich, nutty or chocolate desserts, but also with strong cheeses.
