Poppies Gin

To commemorate WWI, Rubbens distills a unique gin after 100 years and bottles it in the original jar. The original recipe comes from an English soldier who, during the war, used to distill a few liters of fuel for his comrade soldiers during rest in the Ypres area. This exceptionally rich, aromatic drink was distilled from a selection of carefully measured fine herbs. Scarce herbs were provided to him piecemeal by his brigade comrades. The stone jars were passed from man to man and were much appreciated. A sip of poppies gin warmed them on long cold nights in the trenches and helped keep their spirits up. This floral Poppies gin also has anise notes and citrus aromas.

You can combine the Poppies gin to your own taste with a Fever Tree Indian Tonic, Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic or a Fever Tree Elderflower Tonic. As garnishes, add rose petals, lime zest, juniper berries and star anise.
