The exotic Timut pepper - also called Timur pepper - is a rare pepper from the Nepalese high mountains. The pepper berries are harvested by hand and are from the same family as the Sechuan pepper.
Characteristics:
This rare pepper has a spicy, somewhat woody taste. The pepper develops strong citrus aromas that are mainly reminiscent of lemon and grapefruit. This ensures that this pepper goes perfectly with a piece of fish, seafood (particularly scallops) or green vegetables. You can also use this pepper in marinades for chicken or simply mix it with some melted butter as a sauce with boiled potatoes. Due to its citrus aromas, this pepper can also be used in desserts with chocolate and/or fruit. Timut pepper also works well as a botanical in a Gin and tonic.
