Zacapa Rum 23 years

Zacapa Rum 23 is a complex premium rum. It is soft and sweet at the same time and is distilled from sugar cane, fermented with pineapple yeast. The barrels of the same rum of different ages are stacked one above the other with the oldest rum on the bottom and the youngest on top. When rum is bottled at the bottom of the oldest rum, this barrel is supplemented with rum from a higher barrel, which is itself supplemented by younger rums. When the top barrel is finally empty, it is refilled with fresh rum and the entire tower undergoes a new maturation process. Zacapa Rum 23 years won first place (with 97/100) at the Beverage Tasting Institute competition in Chicago.
